Growth Scan???

Hello!
I keep reading about people having growth scans on here. My last scan was at 20 weeks and no plans for a further one before birth (I'm now 34 weeks). Is this normal or another case of my LHB cutting back on things that are available elsewhere in the country?!

not cut backs i don't think.

only had an extra scan (which picked up the need for a further growth scan) because of other complications.

As i understand it, they don't scan post 20 weeks unless there's a health reason to.

be interested to know if my perception is right...

I think they only happen if they think baby might be too big or too small? I reckon that I only had one such scan in 4 pregnancies.

Thanks for responses and apologies if it's insensitive to ask 'why am I not getting one' when others are getting them for health reasons. I think I'm just generally suspicious of my LHB! Thanks ladies! x

I was going to have a growth scan at 39 weeks because DD was small for dates. I didn't get one because she made an appearance at 38.5 weeks.

I get growth scans cos of my diabetes cos diabetic mothers tend to have bigger babies. For me it'll help them decide whether I go full term or not and whether I need a section or whether I can have a vaginal birth. Got mine on the 4th Jan. Could have a baby the week after if they decide to induce (3 weeks early) argh!! bit scary lol Xmas Grin
