Friend is 7 days overdue, been told no induction until she is 12 days over, does she not get a say in the matter ?

She is also worried regarding the snow and being trapped, we live out in the country.

Does she have no input into when she can be induced ?

How about a sweep ? Do you think she could have one of them?

Hospitals have protocols around induction ie in this case it sounds like due date +12, but they're not set in stone. For what is anticipated to be a 'routine' induction, it does depend on bed availability when they're booking inductions etc.

Who told her this? Does she want to be induced before this? What are her reasons/concerns? It might be worth trying to speak with someone more senior.

She is just concerned about being stranded in the snow, and wants to get in there before it gets any worse. Not a reason for induction I know, but is causing her anxiety.

I presume it was her midwife who told her this.
