First Pregnancy??

Hello! I'm new, just wanted to introduce myself, say hi, and wondered if anyone is/has been in the same situation as me?

I haven't exactly been planning pregnancy... I've been on cerazette and using condoms religiously. However, felt a bit 'odd' over last week or so. I've had mega sore boobs and feeling a bit like af is on her way BUT being on cerazette i haven't seen af in nearly 2 years!! Anyway, had a slight bleed on Tue, took a preg test on Fri- came back with a very very faint positive.

Doc told me to assume I'm preggers and to stop bcp, which I did today, and I'm having a blood test Monday.

All the sites I look at seem to be for ladies planning pregnancy; I'm just wondering how it could be possible that I'm pregnant with my religious use of contraception and also is a faint positive still positive??

because all contraception has a failure rate, even if it is is a tiny one.

and a positive is still a positive, you have the hcg hormone or not. you are either pregnant or not

Hi, congratulations! How r u feeling about it all? I'm in the same situation, was on the pill but it failed. Am now 27 weeks, it took a lot of getting used to but me and DH are now over the moon about it! I felt really overwhelmed at first, still do occasionally, but I feel like things happen for a reason and I wouldn't change anything if I could go back in time! Xxx

its not my first pg, but i am now pregnant with my 2nd i was on the pill and it was not planned DP still getting his head round the thought of another one i think

I was on the pill and using condoms and I didn't find out I was pregnant until 10 weeks (I'm now 12). I had run two packs of pills together so hadn't realised I'd missed a period.

I think using both forms is what tripped me up, I felt so protected I was quite relaxed about the time of day I took my pill, and was also quite lax about when to use the condom.

But it happened and three weeks after finding out I'm thrilled (from uncontrollable crying for the first three days).

I am worried that taking the pill might have hurt the baby though, although I'm assured it won't.

LAbaby- I've been just the same as you. Very uncontrolled crying so far!
RockChick- I've got very mixed emotions! I'm scared, anxious, little excited but the biggest part of me is hoping the blood test will be neg. I know if a baby comes along tho I'll love him/her to bits.

DH is actually over the moon, seeing himself as a dad already! He says he's just upset because he's seeing me upset, etc, not at the thought of being a dad!

Nice to know I'm not the only one this has happened to! x x x
