I'm nearly 42 weeks now, having no signs of impending labour following 2 sweeps, not even braxton hicks. Baby moving happily and have been monitored before 2nd sweep. BP etc all fine.
Have been having some watery discharge, waters not trickling though, had this checked too, since 2nd sweep there has been a slight brown tinge to it. Spoken to local MAU, they are overcapacity and only taking emergencies at the moment, suppposed to have been booked for inducement this coming Tues but they are fully booked all week so have to call them 9.00am on Tues morning to see if they have had any cancellations.
Really cheesed off now, very uncomfortable, baby is posterior lie so immense backache and pelvic pain to the point where I can barely walk at times. Looking very unlikely I will go into labour spontaneously.
The worst thing now is that DH & DS (10) have come down with either a very bad cold virus or poss. flu, both running temp of 38.4, sneezing, coughing, headaches etc. I have not been offered or had the flu jab throughout my pregnancy, never had flu either so have been very lucky.
My worries are that if I did happen to go into labour, DH would not be allowed to be there due to his illness or worse still that I will contract it and the implications that will have for both me & baby.
The icing on the cake is that we also have a 2 yr old daughter who is well at the moment but doesn't understand that daddy is poorly and mummy can't do the things we normally do due to the pain.
Can anyone offer me any advice about what to do re: illness, jab, labour etc???? Really don't know who to turn to.
Soz for being very long winded.

It might be worth getting the flu jab. Can you contact your midwife for advice?

Just spoken to them & been advised that I would just have to deal with the symptoms and go ahead with inducement anyway, never mentioned the jab.

i am exactly the same. Kids have the virus you mention and i started it today, due elcs on friday. Kids are so ill its really worrying, but both them and me have had the jab so I can only assume its not flu but acts like it. DS1 is on day 6 of being unwell and still has the high temp and cough. Very very worried, esp bringing a baby into the world with this awful bug around.
