I posted not too long ago about having a symptom free pregnancy, seems like I spoke a bit too soon... Wink

I've often suffered from lower back pain and have definitely been getting a sore back lately. I do pregnancy yoga and stretching to try and keep it limber though.

What is much worse is the pain that has developed in my hips, particularly the left one. It hurts to walk and gets worse if I sit still for a while. Makes me feel like an old lady and I dread to think what it could be like once I am much further along.

I'm seeing the MW on Tuesday for a check up, should I ask her to refer me to the surgery's physio?

Yes yes yes to the physio!

It will almost certainly get worse as you get bigger so you need to see someone as soon as possible to work out what to do/what to avoid/how to support your body.

Definitely go see the Physio ASAP, it will just get worse!
They sorted my back/pelvis problems out last pg really quickly and gave me exercises to do to try to stop it happening again.

Thanks both, I will ask the midwife to refer me when I see her... I have some lower back exercises but they do nothing for my poor hips.

I've just started to get this at 26 weeks, and as with you it's on my left side. I've started sitting with a cushion suporting my lower back which does seem to be helping a bit although it's by no means cured it. I'll take the advice from here and ask to see a physio!
