Pregnant while on the pill?

IF (and i say IF) i was to fall pregnant while on the pill,how would i know i am pregnant and what would be the effect of the hormones in the pill on the baby??

Pregnancy test springs to mind.

I often wondered the same thing when i was on the pill as i didn't get any bleeds anyway! However, i think if you start to get really sore breasts and feel sick etc it may be time to take a test. I'm not sure on how it would affect the baby, i guess it would depend on what exactly your pill does. For example, mine stopped the womb wall from forming. I would suggest you speak to your GP about it. Good luck!

I fell pg on the pill, the only difficulty is dating the pregnancy early. my dates chopped and canged so much through out the pregancy I was dated a whole month forward and then back again through out. was given the most definate date nearer the end and was dated twi weeks later than my orignal date and she came two weeks early. the exact date of my first dating scan, confusing.

I think my symptoms where as you would other wise expect but had been put down to a virus by gp but I did a pg test. cant say my boobs got sore untill after I stopped taking the pill when I did the test. I did have 2 periods. found out i was pg at about 15 to 18 wks or so.

hormone had no ill effects on dd.

my early pains where similar to my labour and period pains mild cramping and nausia. all the pain I had was in my legs and outer vagina. I had some pains in hips and very tight pulling across abdoman.

I had real trouble brushing my teeth with out vomiting. also very tired and physicaly drained.

also my symptoms didnt really present them selves untill i was at least 10 wks or so gone.

this to me seems quite late in comparison to other people I know may be that I just didnt recognise them as was not looking for them.

Ive just found out im pregnant whilst on the pill. The only reason I tested is that AF comes regularly and was 5 days late. That and my boobs have grown a size, im tired and feel yuk. Been to the docs tonight and they told me there was no issue with me being on the pill for me or baby. I think when your on the pill your at higher risk of eptiopic pregancy.

I fell whilst on the pill too. I was 3 1/2 weeks gone when I suspected and tested in the evening when my period didn't come on its due day. No ill effects afaik, DS 6 now.

Me too!! Didn't find out till I went to docs with stomach cramps, was 14 weeks. Dd is 6 now and perfect.

I discovered I was pregnant on the pill when I got to 24 weeks and had horrendous stomach cramp and ended up in A and E.

Not a single symptom up to that point and still in my size 12 jeans.

Baby was fine!

I also got pregnant on the pill - only realised when I didn't have a period, but left it 10 days before testing because I didn't think there was any chance I could have been pregnant! The symptoms I had were like PMT so I didn't notice anything different.

I just started the pill today.

nothing really is 100% acurate in preventing perganacy. are you very young? if so it is natuaral to worry when you first use contaception. Im sure you will be fine just ensure you take it properly.

I got pg twice on the pill. Once was a total freak thing - no missed, nothing. I was 13 wks when I found out and the only symptom was headaches (which I get anyway) and eventually a bigger belly hence the test...

The second time was put down to my IBS preventing absorption of the pill

I got pregnant while on the pill, own stupid fault after taking antibiotics then not waitin the full week before stopping using condoms (waited 5 days then had a bit of an accident while drunk!). I knew something wasn't right, no sickness or anything but couldn't put my finger on why I felt different. Dh then told me my boobs were looking huge, and something just clicked so I did a test and it was positive! Terrified me, but own fault - we r now due to have our baby in 13 weeks!!! Xxx
