Belly button skin brown?

Hey Mumsnetters! Strange question, but did ANYONE at all get a weird flaky brown belly button with pregnancy? Ever since I was pregnant, my belly button became brown and scaly and looks a bit scabby. It's totally weird and I think it may be to do with linea nigra but am not sure o.O Any comments about other peoples weird belly button experiences will be greatly appreciated! Also, I gave birth 6 months ago so have waited a long time for it to go and my linea nigra is gone.

Yes, I had it with DD. No idea what it was but it did go eventually, may have been a while after she was born. I can't really remember.

Yeah mine was the same, the brown skin actually (weirdly!) rubbed away a few months later, I think it took about 6mths. My linea nigra took almost 8 - 9mths to go away after I gave birth to DD1, but I haven't had it at all being pg with DD2!

Yes mine looks like this too. Ds thinks it is highly amusing and yucky! Just glad it is winter and i don't have to bare all because it's so hot.

Oh, good :) As long as it's not some sort of dirty-belly-button-death I am happy Grin Thank you very much :)

Mine has gone brown and shiny!

hippy3 · 16/12/2010 18:46

lol..thats so weird mine looks like it is spreading over my stomach and for some reason looks pink!! I was literally just looking at it...

..im wondering if it is on its way to popping out...also after birth do they go back to normal.??

GruffalosGirl · 16/12/2010 19:32

I had this too, and my belly button popped out at 5 months. I haven't got it yet this time round but I remember it took months to go last time. It eventually falked off.

My belly button eventually went back in but it has never been the same since, it isn't as "tight" if that's the right word, not as scrunched as it used to be.

GruffalosGirl yeah I know what you mean, mine went back but is permanently slightly bigger and not as tight- I suppose along with the rest of my belly- sigh! Hmm
