Does sex induce painful and frequent braxton hicks lasting AGES for anyone else? 34 weeks.

Just that really.

The last few times it has caused quite intense braxton hicks but last night was a whole different ball game. It was so bad I was on the bathroom floor puking into the loo, unable to get up, while DP ran me a bath and looked white as a sheet. I think we both thought I was in labour. The bath helped a bit, but they went on for at least 2 hours until they were weak and infrequent enough for me to sleep.

Does anyone else get this? Should I call the midwife? Not sure whether we should stop altogether now. To be honest it's put me right off anyway, but I'm seriously worried we could induce premature labour.

sorry am not that far along but am getting brxton hicks many times during the day even just going from sitting to standing and even walking. Didn't want your post to go unanswered but i think i would mention itto the midwife personally, to be so bad that your'e sick would be a bit of a worry for me. hope that helps a bit!!

This happens to me, but very mildly, just tightening for a minute or so, not painful. How many weeks are you?

34 weeks.

All that ever used to happen is the bump would tighten for a little while, no pain or anything. These were actual contractions!

Baby is active now, seeing MW Thursday, will have to ask her then, much to my embarrassment.
