One week to go and I think I'm ready, but is there anything that in retrospect you wish that you had done before the virtual loss of freedom.

Anything that you wish you had said to your other kids before the arrivial?

Any good tips for preparing relatives, partners, your home for the event?

Eeew, this is one of the bits I'm dreading, although there's no mention of poo on my notes from last time. Maybe they don't even write it down since it's so normal?

Packed a spare nappy and trousers in the car for when my dh and ds came to visit me in hospital on the first day. ds's nappy had slipped and he'd wet himself and there was nothing I could do about it. Yes I had a changing bag with all that but it was left at home!

Have lots of ready made freezer meals so you don't have to cook.

Good luck!

Poo .... eeeeewwwww
That is enough for me to waver from my determination to have a VBAC and go running to my m/w demanding a c/section .....
The thought of pooing myself is just too awful to contemplate .....
Re: what to do just before the baby is born ... just look around you and savour the silence ... savour the chance to make a cup of tea and drink it while it is hot ... savour being able to watch anything you like on telly and stay up late knowing that you don't have to get up in the morning ...
'Cos your life will never ever be the same again

On the poo front. My neice was absolutely mortified when, at the ante natal classes the teacher asked all of the parents to be if there was any questions at the end. Her DP's(bit divvy)hand shot up and he said 'I have heard she might s**t herself, is there anything you can give her to stop that as it will do me in'. The teacher spluttered that 'there will be so much going on at that point that you wont notice'. They had a massive row about this on the way home. I thought it was hilarious.
