Most people feel the first few kicks at about 20 weeks.
I felt my first at 17 weeks, but that was pretty early.
(They often say that skinnier people feel them earlier than larger people)

It varies quite a lot between different people for a friend of mine it was 23 weeks.

The position of the placenta also can also make a difference as if it's anterior it will be cushioning most of the blows until the baby is quite large.

I felt movements with my first pregnancy at about 17 weeks. It helps to know what you should be looking for though- it doesn't feel like kicks at first, it's a bubbling popping kind of feeling!

I was about 20 weeks or so but it's different for everyone and depends on how your placenta and your baby is lying. It can feel at first like flutters that then become big twitches and popcorn-like pops! I'm only 29 weeks now but I'm sure they'll soon get bigger and keep me up all night Confused

Haven't posted this because...

No one will believe me

I may be flamed

People will think I'm mad

People will say it's impossible

All of the above

But I felt my DD at 14 weeks and I'm 12 weeks now, and I know I can feel it, it's like water swishing around inside me, with the odd very noticeable flutter.

WidowWadman · 11/12/2010 21:30

Wobblewatcher I believe you, am 15 weeks with 2nd child and have been feeling swishing and flutter for a good couple of weeks now.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I felt her for the first time at 15 weeks, then nothing for a while and regularly from about 18-19 weeks on. I had an anterior placenta with her, and now it is posterior.

Oh good, thankyou!! Have googled and it does seem possible. I think for me it's due to position of uterus, being fairly slim, and very very in tune with body. I knew I was pg both times just days after conception. With early scans I have never needed internal ones and never need a very full bladder to get a good view but not sure if this is connected to early movements or if I'm just sounding odd now Smile

I am also feeling mine move at 15 weeks, it's my first and I'm pretty sure I have been feeling the odd flutter for a couple of weeks now.

I was starting to get stressed as hadn't felt bubs at about 19 weeks (well...thought I hadn't). Everyone I asked how it felt said it 'felt like butterflies'). I must have by-passed the whole butterflies thing as has started getting very slight 'muscle twitches' at about 17 weeks. Now I'm 21 weeks I now know they were the first kicks. I have an anterior placenta and hubby has been feeling bubs for about a week. Amazing! I never thought I'd be the type to ramble on about the miricle of life but those kicks are just lovely.
