Hiya

I just bought a second hand Lloyd Tens Machine with some replacement pads. I don't have the packaging for the tens machine, but when packing my labour bag noticed that on the back of the box of replacement pads it says 'not for use during pregnancy or labour'.

just wondered if anyone else had used this Tens machine and whether I should not use it - I was under the impression that they were all the same??

Have a look on the Llyods website and compare your machine to the labour one.

No TENS is recommended in pg - although some research to say in theory ok. Don't see why your machine should be any different from a normal TENS and should be fine to use. I got a 2nd hand labour TENS from Lloyds, it has a booster button, other than that it is the same as a normal TENS unit. Some of the first Llyods TENS couldn't have their settings changed (pulse widith and rate) so perhaps it might5 not be recommended, although again I can't see why.

thanks! this one has a booster button too so that may be why, anyway i will take a look at their website.

just a thought - maybe the replacemnt pads are for their normal machine, labour pads are much longer

I have that machine and the pads are 47mm x 98mm according to the user manual. Maybe its just a warning in case you attach them to a normal TENS rather than a labour one. My pads are covered in a kind of silicone/dry jelly /sticky stuff. Check online for the replacement pads (the user manual says thats where you can get replacement ones) to see if it looks like you have the right ones. Do you have the user manual? HTH
