Hi

Just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant for the first time. Missed a period, slight lower back pain, tender breasts and positive pregnancy test.

I feel really quite well, no tiredness or nausea at all. Is this normal not to feel sick AT ALL?

Thanks for your advice

I never did. The only symptom I had in the first trimester was exhaustion.

TotorosOcarnina · 09/12/2010 08:51

5 bweeks is still very early.

My MS hit at 7 to 8 weeks and then was really awful!

hhg · 09/12/2010 08:54

Thank you

Not that I am actually wishing for nausea/sickness Xmas Grin

Mine ran from 8-14 weeks but was luckily pretty mild.

Liskey · 09/12/2010 09:18

I never had any morning sickness. A lot of it is do with whether your Mum ever had morning sickness I believe if not you'll tend to be the same.

Wobblewatcher · 09/12/2010 09:22

5 weeks is probably too early.

thefurryone · 09/12/2010 10:57

I also found out at 5 weeks only symptoms at that point was cramping as my uterus stretched and being really really really tired.

Sickness or rather constant nausea kicked in a couple of weeks later. I actually phoned my DH at work I was so excited the first time I was sick, which considering I'm still now sick every couple of days at 20 weeks even though the nausea has gone seems a bit weird.

bonnymiffy · 09/12/2010 11:19

I haven't been sick yet (apart from a couple of days ago but I think it was something I ate) and I'm currently 15 weeks. I've felt sick, and am tired from around 3pm to the point where I just need to go to bed early. I don't think not being sick is anything to worry about, just count your blessings!

Me neither. Currently 9+4 with my first. My mum had no morning sickness either, nor did her mum, so I'm with Liskey here that it may have some genetic connection. Apparently (says my friend the Obs and Gynae doctor) if your mum and gran had a history of complication-free births or particular complications, then it's likely that you will display similar tendencies.

If that's right, then I'm going to have a VERY late and VERY large baby...!

HighFibreDiet · 09/12/2010 15:20

Doesn't quite work in my case. Mum had both of us late; I had all three boys early. I agree that 5 wks is too soon to expect morning sickness but I am very envious of anyone who manages to miss it out completely. Mine is always terrible. Envy

I felt a little queasy one morning, and that was it. Heartburn on the other hand .......

DD was born with a full head of thick lustrous hair, dark with gold highlights!

Mine kicked in last Saturday at the beginning of my 7th week. I had no nausea at all in my fifth week.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/12/2010 19:38

Hmm, I was starting to panic about this too. I've just started my 7th week and have had no sickness, just my appetite has subsided a bit. Not that I want it (I HATE being sick),but I just want reassuring that something is happening in there :) Saying that though,my boobs are enormous, and really sore & swollen and I'm going to bed at about 9pm every night, and having to phsically stop myself nodding off at my desk at work in the afternoons! I'd be interested to know if my Mum suffered from sickness, but I havent told her yet!! Sorry about the lack of paragraphs - duff keyboard!

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 19:42

I had none at all. Am now almost 40 weeks pregnant :) 5 weeks is too early to be expecting it though.

fallingandlaughing · 09/12/2010 19:43

I am just coming up on 8weeks and didn't have any morning sickness till 6and a half. Even now it is just waves of mild nausea, not vomiting or anything. Had a scan at 6 and 4 (medical reasons) and everything is great.

TransatlanticCityGirl · 09/12/2010 19:49

I'm 12weeks and I had one "incident" at the 9 week mark... I was at work eating my usual cereal and out of nowhere I suddenly felt the need to be sick. I quickly made my way to the loo and thank the lord no one else was there, so I puked, rinsed, fetched a mint, and it was all over in the space of 10 minutes.
I felt great afterwards - no kidding!

pipoca · 09/12/2010 19:49

Envy was nauseous from the second the line came up and vomming from 7 weeks and still going strong at 17 weeks.

jspark123 · 09/12/2010 20:36

hi hhg, I am also 5 weeks pregnant, nearly 6 now. I do not really have any symptoms either, apart from mild cramping period type pains on and off, I have read this is normal at this stage. Had very mild sore breasts but that seems to have decreased slightly at the moment. It does not seem like I am pregnant at all, although I agree with the other posts, I am not wishing MS on myself!

lilly13 · 09/12/2010 21:26

Hi, congratulations!! I had no tiredness and no morning sickness either. I am 18.5 weeks now. Relax and enjoy!
