It's 7 years since i was last pregnant and i'm now 28 weeks. My bump keeps havign phases of feeling very hard and sometimes a feeling of great pressure in my groin when i have sat for rather a long time. IS it just the position of baby? Am fairly content in pregnancy but just can't remember how it should feel. Plenty of movements during the day and atm it feels like there is something really pressing on my lower ribs.

bumping for you as I've had this for the last week or so.

Even ended up on the labour ward at the weekend as they thought I was in early labour (i'm 22 weeks) Thankfully I wasn't, but they weren't really able to confirm what it was either, only something I shouldn't worry about.

It mostly happens for me if I move to quickly, standing up, bending over etc.

If it's really bothering you call you MW or GP.

Sorry I can't give you an answer Xmas Smile

I think you can start braxton hicks contractions at 20 weeks from what I remember reading somewhere. Pretty sure, so it could be that. I somedays worse than others, have the pressure as tho I am full term but when I am walking. Im only 22 weeks. I would go with the op, if its bothering you, speak to your mw or gp, but if you have had your scan and all was normal, and baby is active, I would take it as thats a good sign :)

Hello,

I've had BH since 22 weeks (or earlier, I can't remember) which feels like a tightening of my uterus. It's a bit shocking at times, and has been quite strong on occasion. I've started having some feelings of pressure up under my diaphragm and between my ribs. I think it's just baby getting big but still somersaulting and stretching out.

I've found some days baby's positioned so it feels like he's using my pelvic floor as a hammock. Really uncomfortable pressure. I've found that lying on my back with a pillow under my bum encourages him to come back up (although then you get the ribs issues!).

He does seem to be fairly co-operative at this stage (although is now attempting to burrow out the side of my belly at inopportune moments, like this morning's meeting!)

I have been having Braxton Hicks for the past week and am only 20 weeks. Also have started to feel very uncomfortable at night when trying to sleep with bad rib ache. Guess, it's the start of things to come! :(
