Really awful, stinky, CONSTANT wind. From the lower regions.

Is this one of the symptoms of pregnancy, or am I just a smelly old bag who should not be around people?!

yup

BagofHolly · 07/12/2010 17:24

Seems standard to me. Some days I'm almost self-propelled.

prettywhiteguitar · 07/12/2010 18:09

ahh yes, lovely wind

always present

hazchem · 07/12/2010 18:12

I find it's worse when i take heartburn medication!
I think preganacy is really just losing your sense of dignity day by day.

snowmummy · 07/12/2010 18:13

Completey normal!

mavies · 07/12/2010 18:33

Ha! They say children are like farts as you can only stand your own but my goodness I've had to run from some of my recent rippers! All completely normal! Grin

DomesticGoddess31 · 07/12/2010 20:58

Wind was my first symptom. 8 weeks in and it ain't getting any better, and it's both ends for me. Makes working in an open plan office a whole lot more challenging, let me tell you.

kelly2525 · 07/12/2010 20:58

Ive just farted so violently I think Ive blown myself another arsehole, and it hurt Grin

Im 35 weeks now, but it was 100 times worse at the beginning, trying so hard to keep it in at work and around others!

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 21:04

My dog is so disgusted with the constant 'duvet hovercrafting' he's taken to sleeping downstairs now

Nunners · 08/12/2010 11:26

I just roared laughing at all the responses - I feel so much better! Thank you!Grin

Not just you. I'm 20 weeks and trumping like a trooper. Apparently baby can now hear things, I reckon this is may be why children are so fascinated by farting because it's basically the first thing their poor wee ears ever get to hear.

Poledra · 08/12/2010 11:33

You need to learn the ancient art of Crop-Dusting Grin

Mine smell like sprouts.
I havnt eaten sprouts since last Christmas - not nice.
8 weeks here too, glad its not just me.

sh77 · 08/12/2010 11:50

lol "From the lower regions." - from where else could such smells emanate??

Kelly - that is the best line I have heard this week!!!!!!

Why are you all sniffing your farts??

At least they can be controlled to some extent, but if you have an episiotomy, they will just fall out of your arse without any warning.

SerenaJoy · 08/12/2010 11:58

See, I was like this BEFORE I got pregnant, and now that I am (12 weeks) the farting has practically stopped. Unfortunately, I still HAVE the wind, I just can't get rid of it as I'm not farting, and I can't burp (haven't been able to, since I was a baby myself). So basically I just slowly inflate over the course of the day, like a hot air balloon preparing for flight.

Eventually I get so bloated it makes me nauseous and I go to the bathroom and heave until I make some awful retching/burping noise and get rid of all the air from my stomach.

I think I'd rather have the farting Sad

sh77 · 08/12/2010 12:01

Get Delatine by Rennie. Works a treat. Then you can come here and compare smells Grin

GlitteryBalls · 08/12/2010 12:40

Just think how much your digestive oragns are squashed up? That's my excuse to my DP anyway! But yes, it's bad. It was worse for me earlier on, then it dies down a bit.

SerenaJoy · 08/12/2010 12:41

Well! I certainly put the dampeners on this thread didn't I?! Sorry everyone - please continue with the funny farting stories, I'm just jealous!

sh77 Deflatine helps a little, but the only thing that would make me really feel a million dollars would be a big loud trump! Grin

ninipops · 08/12/2010 18:51

Windeze was the only thing that helped me out first time round. I am 5+5 now and I have roughly 35 weeks worth at the ready!

CupcakesHay · 08/12/2010 19:00

I had friends visiting me for 2 weeks - and had wind the whole time. Over it now (thankfully) - was about 28 weeks at the time - and not matter what i ate I had wind. Also painful for me - not just smelly. My advise just wanr friends and family!!!! {blush]

MissCKitty · 09/12/2010 09:03

LMAO at these posts. Glad to hear I am not alone. DP and the cats won't sit with me any more Xmas Blush
