Hi there, i'm a newbie to motherhood, 32+4 with baby no.1. yesterday i had some mucus with blood in it, was the smallest amount and in a kinda stringy form. haven't had any today and baby is still wriggling around like normal, although more painful lately i'm assuming because theres less room. I talked to a friend who says i will know when i have my show and this sounds too little. just concerned as i've still 7wks to go. Anyone any advice?

Call your midwife and mention it. She will advise what to do.

Yes I would def speak to MW just in case. If it's nothing to worry about she can put your mind at rest. x

I had this at 33w plus a bit of yellowy jelly a few days before- midwife said it was a piece of the plug but that it can reform and therefore nothing to worry about. The blood I had was brown i.e. old- she said to phone the hospital if I had any bright red, fresh blood. I've had nothing else since, now 36+5. Hope you've spoken to your mw now :)

I wouldn't worry at all, unless you feel as if your waters have gone, start contracting or are worried about baby's movements.

thanks ladies, i did ring the MW in the end and she sent me up to foetal assessment where they did scan, internal etc and all is well! urine was showing up with some protein so that has been sent away just incase to check for pre-eclampsia...but i'm much happier now, definately better just to ask!
