Paranoid mum to be...can a very loud noise harm your baby?

Last night I was next to the back door when it slammed so hard and loud it shocked me never mind our tiny little 20 week bub (my bump was just inches away from the door). I realise I sound completely paranoid but I am genuinely concerned about it - could the baby have been really startled or its hearing affected? Hubby isn't helping by telling me 'not to be daft'. Any advice appreciated.

No, it really cannot.

I would not recommend going to a rock concert but a one off noise will make you jump but not harm your baby.

Don't worry about it.

here

Your baby may have heard the noise, but it would be muffled by the amniotic fluid, and since it was a one-off and not sustained noise, like at a concert, or working in a loud factory, your baby will be fine.

Ooh I should say - by 20 weeks old I mean in the womb!! Thanks mme - your advice is appreciated.
