very area sore under right boob?

I'm 35+3 today and for the last 8 weeks ago have had a very tender area about an inch wide under my right boob (where the boob meets the belly IYSWIM) towards the middle of my chest. At first I thought it was my bras getting too small (don't have big boobs but they have obviously grown with pregnancy) but bought bigger bras and the problem continued. Then worried it was because I was still in underwired bras so am now wearing sports bras but if anything it's got worse.

Its just one small area, the skin is always tender but by the evening/night time its very sore and feels like I have a scar under the skin that being ripped open. I also get very sharp stabbing pains occasionally which make me gasp.

I know its an odd one, and there are worse pregnancy symptoms but just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar and know what it was and what to do about it?

Thanks for reading

Doesn't sound pg related to me (but I'm not a healthcare professional). I'd def get it checked out by a Dr if it's getting worse.. Don't want to worry you - it might be hormonal, (or a cyst?) but best to be on the safe side.

ive had the exact same thing with both my pregnancies. Does it feel a bit like a bruise? mine does mentioned it to my midwife in my last pregnancy and she just said it was ok its just where the baby has been kicking or lying just under the ribs. Do let me know though if your doctor tells you any different

just done a bit more googling and unfortunatley there are a good few people with this pain. It seems to be the muscles between your ribs pulling under the pressure of your uterus pushing on them. HTH

Thanks so much ladies, sorry you're suffering too but I am relieved to know that I'm not alone in this. Will ask the doc about it when I see her and if she has any good advice I'll be sure to let you know.

36 weeks on Friday so hoping the baby will drop and I'll get some respite from this. Kiki84, def. agree on the laughing or sneezing, nightmare!

Thank you!! :) I am 28 weeks (tomorrow) and sneezed whilst bending over last week and have exactly the same pain in the same place!! I have the midwife on Tuesday so was going to discuss it with her then! I have a big old out the front bump, (don't look pregnant from the back) am very over balanced and baby is very high under the ribs. It feels just like I've torn something and is in a very uncomfortable place. I came on here today just to see if anyone else had been suffering from it and there we go!! Isn't mumsnet wonderful!

Snap! I'm 38 weeks and started off with pain on one side, now its progressed to both! Feels like my ribs are beng torn apart...its soooo uncomfortable! Will just keep taking paracetamol when its at its worst...seems to help a little.
