hi everyone. having put a few posts on here already, I thought I'd try and shed a little more light on my situation and hope for some advice.

Me and my partner are trying for a baby and have been making love at the most fertile stages. I'm now 2 weeks late for my period and I'm usually very regular. I've taken a test and it was negative but got told it maybe too early for any of the hormones to be strong enough to show up. In the first day or so I usually get heavy bleeding from my period and it's quite clotted but I've only had slight spotting since this morning. We also made love a couple days ago and there was slight bleeding during that but got told that can be quite normal and possibly a sign of pregnancy. I've been eating a lot more than normal too.

having just taken another test tonight since Friday, I'm wondering should I just except that I'm not actually pregnant at all? Just want to be careful with my everyday activities should I actually be pregnant. I don't know what to do really :(

Hi, a pg test should be reliable once you've missed your period so if you were pregnant it would show up by now normally. Having said that not everyone's hormones react in the same way.

Don't worry about your everyday activities (lots of people don't find out they're pregnant until a few weeks in). Just be sensible about booze and keep taking folic acid. Try not to worry about it too much, it's normal to take up to a year to get pg, lots of people take around six months. It's no reflection of anything.

I think if your 2 weeks late and you are pregnant it really should show up on a test by now, do another test to put your mind at rest but then just go with the results, if you miss a second period then go see a doctor.
