...And am feeling sorry for myself!

24hrs ago I started getting a sore throat, but carried on at work as usual and started feeling more unwell. Muscle aches, shivering, cough and headache developed and I spent most of the night tossing and turning and feeling awful.

I've spoken to NHS direct and a GP today who have both reassured me and told me to take paracetamol and drink lots of fluids, but is there anything else I can do?

I'm so worried that it will affect the baby :(

Sorry for the moan, just wanted to get it off my chest.

Please try not to worry.

It is only since last year that the whole 'should pregnant women be vaccinated/is flu dangerous' dilemma/dialogue has arisen in the UK.... which means that millions upon millions of women throughout history have had flu while pregnant and they and their babies must have been ok as most of us have survived!

Take care and get better.

Thank you - I know I'm just being paranoid and I can't do anything other than look after myself so I get better quickly.

sympathies, I've just spent one of the most miserable days of my life trying to get to 6pm when DH gets home, with a 3yo and the flu at 33weeks, it sucks Sad

I had a HORRIBLE vomiting virus at around 30 weeks and got dehydrated/hospitalised etc. Baby was absolutely fine and was wriggling around in there the whole time which didn't help the nausea! I felt so bad I was convinced nothing could survive that but I was wrong! Just take could care of yourself and everyhting will be fine. They are made of strong stuff Smile
