Sinus headaches

I feel like a bit of a wuss for moaning about this but I've been getting horrible headaches for weeks now. Its getting to the point where they are actually quite debilitating. I reckon they are sinus headaches, as opposed to hormonal, because I can constantly hear my heartbeat pounding away and my head feels like it might actually explode when I bend down. When I get this in my non-pregnant state a few sinutab sort me out in no time. I have had this now for more or less 4 weeks and am feeling miserable. I actually threw up last week because my head was that bad.

I've asked the MW twice and she says I can only use paracetemol, which are not helping at all. Plus, although I never take more than 2 a day, i'm worried about taking it so many consecutive days - that surely can't be good either. I've tried using a steamer but didn't notice any improvements afterwards. Has anyone else had this who can make a suggestion? Is there any point in seeing my GP, is there anything they can prescribe during pregnancy that won't do any damage?

I feel your pain! I get horrific sinusitis, and was dreading not being able to take Nurofen Cold & Flu in pregnancy. I've found something that really works, though. It's called Neilmed Sinus Rinse. I got mine at Boots, but it's cheaper on Amazon.

It's very strange to use at first, but it is MAGICAL. I wish I'd had it before I was pregnant. But I find I absolutely have to use it every day, twice if the sinus headache is really bad, or the headache will come back in a few days. It's a bit like a Neti Pot, but easier to use.

Feather I'm quite excited to read this, I just thought there was nothing you could take during pregnancy. I'll head to Boots tomorrow, don't think I could wait for a delivery especially with the weather causing delays. Thanks for getting back to me!
