Advice please...music concert when 7 wks preg

Hello, I have a feeling that I am being stupid to worry about this but I'm hoping I won't get shouted at too much on here and will just get some sound advice please.
I will be 7 wks tomorrow and on Friday we have a concert to go to. Am I ok to go? I'm not so worried about being knocked about, as I think we have seats, I'm more worried about the base?! I go to a lot of concerts but this is my first being pregnant, and I have wondered what the base could do to baby. I mean depending on how close to the speakers you are (and it doesn't have to be that close) the base can go right through you,making your chest vibrate...could these vibrations do anything to little one?
So sorry for stupid questions, I've tried googling this and not found a decent answer.

As long as you feel well enough to go, then you will be absolutely fine.

Thanks. I've had to have an early scan due to some pains and stuff but all was fine so maybe I am being a bit cautious. The concert is Reef, one of my boyfriends favourites but I only know one of their songs?! Confused

I saw Muse at 6 weeks, Goldfrapp at 14 weeks at will be seeing Scissor Sisters at 19 weeks! I don't see any problem with the music, the tough thing is if you don't have seats!

I went to see The Cure when I was about 32 weeks with DS2. We had standing tickets, but when I got tired the very nice (but touchingly apprehensive) bouncers let me perch next to the sound desk.

I went to see The Charlatans at about 10 weeks. Stood up the whole way through and was fine, dancing away. Saw Badly Drawn Boy about a week later and was fine then too. I was just a bit disappointed to read that the baby's hearing hadn't developed yet, so it couldn't join in the fun!

Just relax and enjoy it and, as PipPipPip says, your baby is well-insulated! Have fun!

You and baby will be fine! I went to see Modest Mouse when I was not much further along than you and all was well. I did purposely stay out of the crowds but otherwise was gigging as usual! Hardest part was the bus journey into London and back due to travel sickness!

I'm aiming to musically educate my little insect in utro, going to see Frank Turner on Sunday evening, and Mogwai in Feb Grin DH has stipulated no moshing and bought seated tickets...

I went to Isle of Wight festival when I was 9 weeks, as i already had the tickets. A whole weekend of crowds and sleeping in a tent - with no alcohol to anaesthetise me and therefore hardly any sleep! Not to mention the loos... Me and baby were fine - I'm now 33+5. x

I'm sure you will be fine. I spent a week in Ibiza dancing in the bassbins around 10 weeks (sober obviously - that was a new experience) and all seems fine now at 35 weeks.

I (had) to go and see "We Will Rock You" when I was about 20 weeks pg. I've been to alot of gigs in my time but that was the basiest base I've ever experienced!

I also went skiing when I was 5 weeks pg...

I'm sure you (and the baby) will be fine. I went to see Frank Turner when I was around 18 weeks with DS, and with this one I've seen the Manics and I've been to Glastonbury.

I've been to loads of gigs while pregnant. In fact I'm upset I can't manage more as get too tired. If you don't have a seat, try to get near a wall or pillar so you can lean against them if need be but I imagine you'll be fine. If the bass is going to be that loud though, I'd recommend you wear earplugs, especially if you go to lots of gigs or your ears will be ringing. Have fun.

Saw Aphex Twin play at 14 weeks - which was solely bass! Saw Hot Chip/LCD Soundsystem at 29 weeks and all seems to be ok a fortnight afterwards. Enjoy yourself. Baby loves disco!

I went to see Hole at 9 weeks, Alkaline trio at 12 weeks, Green day at 18 weeks and Alkaline Trio again at 25 weeks.

The hole gig was standing and i really didn't feel good but I was able to find a seat at the back for a bit then walked around at the back of the room - very different from when i saw them ten years ago, hanging over the bar at the front and nearly breaking my ankle in a crowd spill but i still enjoyed.

Stood at the back of the first alk3 gig and was fine, sat at Green day - it was Wembly so standing anywhere other than in the pit would have been rubbish anyway.

The second Alk3 gig DH found me a stool to sit on at the back then found a stool for another pregnant lady who was also there. Needless to say i couldn't stay on the stool and headed down into the crowd. Found a spot with a good view but plenty of room and loved it.

I'm now 37 weeks, Jimmy Eat World played a couple of weeks ago and DH wouldn't let me go, I was gutted but i understand why, but i'm glad i went to all the others.

I went to a gig at 12 weeks and have tickets for another at 26. Will probably keep away from the moshpit but can't see any reason not to go.

What I would say is that it's not worth the worry. I was 6 weeks I went to a gig and started miscarrying 2 days later. Sad The bass and vibrations on the night were really very obvious. Obviously it is highly likely that it just happened and was going to happen anyway as I was in the high risk trimester, but I will never know and next time I (hopefully) get pregnant I won't risk it during those early months just in case. I went to lots of gigs in my 1st pregnancy, but all past the 12 weeks mark (not planned that way, they just were iyswim) and think I would stick to that in future.
