Over-active thyroid & possible diabetes - elective c-section?

I have a very over-active thyroid which seems to be deteriorating throughout pregnancy (am 26 weeks). Yesterday doc discovered sugar in wee too which also points to development of gestational diabetes.

With previous problems with dd birth, plus thyroid and diabetes complications I want an elective c-section. I feel my thyroid problems returning, but my thyroid consultant is reluctant to increase my tablets again. My doc supports my decision and said that if he was my 'friendly' consultant he would have no hesitation in booking me in for a c-section around 36-38 weeks, but that, unfortunately, it's not him I need to convince but my consultant.

I have appt with consultant on Monday 26th Sept. Does anybody think he'll refuse me my request for c-section considering my recently poor thyroid results and this new development of diabetes?

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

can the doc write to the consultant outlining all the reasons why? Surely the consultant would be aware of the problems over-active thyroid and diabetes causes and shouldn't need convincing? Good luck by the way.

I think that'll be my next line of "attack" if consultant refuses my request. Hopefully he'll be as understanding as my doc has been. Fingers crossed and thanks for the luck!! Roll on Monday when I can get this sorted.
