I haven't found a recent thread for older mums. I am 39 and expecting DC3.

Are there any other 'older mums' out there?

How are you feeling?

Me too MandaHugNKiss!

I am always being told I look too young to have children the ages they are..so it does give me a little encouragement, finding myself in this situation now :)

Good luck everyone, and congrats..wishing you all well x

Lovely to find a thread of Old Birds who are pregnant. I'm 44 (just turned Smile) and trying to conceive. I already have a 5 year old.
I would love to hear how you're all doing and hope to join you soon.

Hello All. Just found this thread. I am 42 and 6 weeks pregnant. Lost a baby at 14 weeks last year, so am keeping everything crossed that everything is OK this time. Having a scan at 8 weeks for some reassurance. Feel sick in evenings and bit more tired than usual (the commute to London each day is more challenging than it was before), but apart from that am OK. So good to hear I am not the only older Mum as I keep on thinking I will be oldest Mum in NCT classes and at school gates. Things you worry about!

girlfromdownsouth · 15/01/2011 21:16

Am 39 will be 40 when DC3 born. DD is 8 and DS is 6.5. Am 14 wks and still feel very sick all the time. Am also worried about the age gap, wanted one much sooner but we emigrated to NZ and back in 2.5 yrs and I had to work full-time there (not planned) so was not possible.

Have not told DD & DS yet (scary NT results for Downs - CVS on Mon - hold thumbs), but they know we want another baby and are really up for it.

I'm also 39, and will be 40 (by a few weeks!) when DC2 is born, although there is a huge 14 year age gap between my DC1 and new baby! I'm 28 weeks at the moment. Have had a couple of previous miscarriages, so am well aware of how precious new life is! Would love to communicate with some older mums. I don't think there are any local to me :(

39 and knackered... Not entirely sure on weeks but baby is due 6th Feb. Wasn't this shattered last time I'm sure but then I wasn't working & running around after an 18 month old either Hmm
I wouldn't have classed myself as old at all, but since Christmas I'm bloody shattered. Iron count is good so just trying to rest as & when I can!

MuffinMouse · 15/01/2011 23:54

girlfromdownsouth thinking of you! Good luck with the results.

Thinking of linking this thread to the ante-natal forum. What do you think? And anyone got a good name for it?

Hi MuffinMouse

I am 41,7+5, fifth pregnancy. Youngest is 12.
Incredibly tired and hungry lots but can't decide what I want to eat..

Feeling self conscious about my age today especially after docs appointment yesterdayso its nice to see so many 'older' mums to be on here :)

emanon · 19/01/2011 13:40

Hi - I'm almost 44 and just found out I'm pregnant. Completely stunned (thought it was the menopause), have a 9 and 10 year old. Don't know what to do, could do with some positive stories. Very aware of high risk for miscarriage etc. So worried what people will think (I know I shouldn't be!) :)

DaisyF · 19/01/2011 13:49
