I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and if I don't stop eating I'm gonna look like an elephant by the time I have this baby.

I've already put on two stone, and if I keep going at this rate I'll have piled on another stone by the time the baby comes.

I've been pigging out non-stop and I can't find the willpower to give up. I've been putting cream on top of my cereal for goodness sake - and have a choc bar every afternoon.

I need to get back to healthy eating and go back to the gym. I was going twice a week but after a bout of illness this has dropped off to.

Who's got some motivation they can lend me?

Let me know if you find some - I need some too! I'm 30 weeks pg and daren't go near a set of scales. I am a complete heffalump

Iklboo · 22/09/2005 14:56

Sorry sweetheart - I have kind of the same problem. At 29 weeks all I wanted to eat was BBQ Chicken griddlers, chips & mini-kievs! And I've never eaten so much chocolate. Somehow I've managed to only put on about 1.5 stone so I've been v lucky.
Consolation is, my appetite has dropped off since about 32 weeks as junior is squashing my stomach so I can't eat as much.
Does your local pool do aquanatal classes? Water aerobics for mums-to-be are pretty fun and keep you sort of in shape.

Forgot to add that I looked like a heffalump pre-pregnancy though

im 36 weeks and have pigged out from conception i swear! Dread to think how much weight ive put on - refuse to weigh myself!

Just sat and ate a whole packet of Jaffa Cakes ffs!!!

Oh well, if i cant eat now, when can i!

sweetheart · 22/09/2005 15:00

I think once I'm at home I'll be OK - It's mostly boredom at work that is the cause of my constant eating!!

During early pregnancy I was really into fresh, clean tasting things like fruit. I was so healthy.

Now all I want is choc, milk, cream etc etc. It doesn't help that I've had indegestion lots and drinking big glasses of ice cold milk helps it.

I'm not really into aqua natal - I just need to find the motivation to go back to the gym!!!

LMAO@JM - like ur logic girl! lol.

can't talk here making up for 3 months of no fried food as I felt sick every time I smelt it! so this week had a pizza take away and also a chinese - debating on weather to go to maccy d's or not tonight?

no help that is it?? - pig out now shift weight after xmas!

twirlaround · 22/09/2005 15:06

you could give yourself gestational diabetes like this - that happened to me and it wasn't much fun! Sort out your diet now for the sake of you and the baby!

sweetheart · 22/09/2005 15:07

I just keep thinking the more weight I put on now - the more I'll have to shift afterwards.

Before I got pregnant I was just starting to be happy with my figure after pilling on the Ibs when I had dd - that was 5 years ago!!!

I don't want to be doing weight watchers for the next 5 years!!!

if you get dodgy blood sugar you have to prick your finger and bleed several times a day.

Also if you become bigger than necessary your skin will stretch EVEN MORE!

Please please go on a healthy eating kick - your body is stressed enough with pregnancy without making life harder by poor eating!

I ate too much cake myself and it was a mistake! !!

oooooh yes GD - our mum had that when she was PG with me and she's now got type 2 diabetes - not nice for her. (althou she was over weight etc.. but sweets and cakes etc and snacking didn't help)

twirlaround · 22/09/2005 15:13

you might be craving iron (chocolate) and calcium (milk etc) - so your body could be telling you what it needs!

There are healthier ways of supplying it than cream which should still stop cravings with any luck!!!
