green mucous blob@21 weeks

Hi, I went to the toilet before and for the second time I noticed a smallish greeny/yellow blob of jelly stuff on the toilet paper. It didnt have any blood in it and it wasnt stringy jelly, it was more solid jelly (sorry tmi). I had this at 11 weeks and the mw said it could be a bit coming off my mucous plug and it can regenerate itself. I actually had my cervix measured yesterday and it was 3.98cm. Anyone?

beckie90 · 24/11/2010 16:24

I just had all the normal checks they test you for at your booking in appointment.
I am so worried now

I would request a swab as green colour could indicate bacterial vaginosis - better to rule it out.

bettywobble · 24/11/2010 16:49

Ok, but what would the jelly blob be?

Discharge, which increases during pregnancy.

Its nothing like the discahrge I have had at all...I have had he clear slippery egg white type, and the mikly white loads of discahrge, this was a solid, pea size lump of jelly on its own.

i would say you might have thrush. i have had the same greeny stuff (and no itching) and done pessaries in this pregnancy and my first one (approved my MW but hard to buy from some pharmacies esp sains with stupid man pharma refusing to sell me one because I was preg, I stormed out in tears) and they have worked a treat. get a prescription of DH to buy for you.

bettywobble · 24/11/2010 17:36

Thanks, but this was a semi solid lump of green jelly, nothing with it it all.

It could just be normal cervical mucus and it couldjust have been ur urine making it go green (soz tmi) I had the same thing with my first pregnancy and panicked and had tests done and she said it didn't seem like anything was wrong and said like I said above... I wouldn't worry too much unless you bleed, get pains etc... I no I no easier said than done! Good luck hun x

Unless a doctor comes on here to tell you what it is, I don't think anyone can tell you. Better get it checked out.

sh77 Thanks, but I just wondered if anyone had the same, rather than a medical opinion. I phoned the out of hours mw who made me phone the labour ward, who then said keep an eye on it and if it gets more sore I have to go in. I'm 21 weeks, and I've had 7 mc. So yea thanks for that helpful last post.
cyberjules thanks, I hope its all ok, fingers crossed :)
