Please help - Integrated Blood Test

Can anyone help me please? I am due to have a private scan/the Integrated blood test to detect downs syndrome and other trisomies October 10. I booked this 6 weeks ago and it's been really hard for dh to get time off but we managed it eventually. Need dh with me as travelling from Manchester to London, rush hour traffic, will not use tube and dh used to driving through London (and just want him there anyway!)

I am now completely stressed out - the hospital have just 'phoned me to inform me they cannot see me October 10 as there is no sonographer available. DH is working on the alternative date and has no hope of getting the day off (is required to give 6 weeks notice). Does anybody know where else I can get this test done or indeed a private nuchal fold test done, preferably in the North West?

Sorry for the ramble, any advice would be gratefully received.

Only know the Nuffield in Glasgow do it, but that is not really much good. If you are stuck I can get their phone no for you. You could do the train and taxi if need be, sorry not much help really

Pacinofan, I thought most big hospitals did private nuchal fold tests. At the Norfolk and Norwich you have to pay for one if you want one and are under 35. £100 I think. Just phone round your nearby hospitals and ask. Prob need a letter from GP tho. I must admit I'm not sure what the integrated blood test is so can't help you there.

Thanks so much for your replies. Panic now over, I am being squeezed in at the UCH, same day, same test. Am so relieved, been on the internet trying to look at alternatives and it's just so confusing trying to decide who offers the best test, who has best results for performing amnio/cvs, etc. Anyway, fingers crossed this appt. won't be cancelled and we'll finally get to see our little bean!
