Do you know if you can take any medication for a cold? Am 16 wks pg. I have a really bad sore throat and my head is absolutely full. I know it's only a cold but wondered if you are alloowed to take anything to make it a bit easier.

Not sure, but I went (or rather sent dh) to the chemist when I had the lurgy when pg, he spoke to the pharmacist and they did find something for me!

Hot blackcurrant squash always seemed to make me feel better.

paracetemol

benylin cough mixture in small doses and not too often!

lockets/tunes etc are ok

Can you tell im suffering too.... 36 weeks here!

I think the only thing you can take is paracetemol I'm afraid! Remember having a real sticker of a cold when 17 weeks pregnant and having a long conversation over the phone with my GP about what I could / couldn't take - he was looking up all the products in his medical reference books!

You might be OK with using something like Olbas oil dabbed onto a tissue which might clear you head slightly. I used to put a couple of drops into a bath and go for a soak. Definitely can't touch things like Sinex or anything with Pseudoephydrine (sp??) in it !

Poor you!

i don't know what you can take I would probably ring midwife or check with a pharmacy.

Drink lots and lots that always helps me. I hope you feel better soon
