Hello

I took these from 34 weeks during last pregnancy and have just brought some for my 2nd pregnancy - am now 35 weeks. However, i can't remember how many to take?

The bottle says 3-6 capsules per day and each one is 400 mg. Is it ok to take 6 per day? This info is not specific to pregnancy and is just the generic doseage info on the back of the bottle.

Thanks

I asked inholland and barrett and they advised from 37 weeks. I drank tea from 34 weeks (2-3 cups) then took 1 tab a day from 36 weeks, moved on to 3 a day from 37 weeks, now i take 3 or 4 a day with meals (39 weeks) you can take 6 if u like but if i was you i'd gradually build them up.

Can I just point out for those who don't know, that they shouldn't be used before towards the end as it can cause miscarriage. I know it doesn't apply to you two ladies, but I know of someone who thought you were to start drinking it as soon as you found out you were pregnant.

Does it work? Its something I have wondered but never actually tried.

raspberry leaf is described as a 'uterine tonic'....it is supposed to help tone the uterus so when you do go into labour your contractions are more 'effective'. some women swear by it, others notice no difference. it does not bring labour on btw - the reason you're not supposed to take early in pregnancy is it can cause contractions which might lead to miscarriage. hope this helps!
