chances of getting a sweep at 39+5?

any got any idea if my midwife would agree to give me a sweep at my appointment today? I am 39+5 (by LMP) and really struggling with SPD and just can't imagine being pregnant and in this pain for another 2 weeks ...

any suggestions how I can 'persuade' the midwife, or are they likely to refuse me until after 40w?
FWIW by my dates I am already 40+6

I would definately ask and explain how much pain you're in with SPD (i have that too). I had a sweep done at 39+6 days once and two days later went into labour (don't know if it was helped on by sweep or not though) but definately worth a try.

I was offered one at that point by my mw, which I accepted! She couldn't quite catch my cervix because the baby was so low, but things happened the next day. Not sure it was anything to do with the sweep or maybe it would have anyway.

My mw wouldnt - i have spd (cructhes for when it gets really bad) and she'll not sweep me til 40+7

pinky that midwife won't til your 40+7 when you are clearly in so much pain.

I am not on crutches - though was offered them, but am so immobile and not sleeping etc.

I saw my consultant at 38 weeks with DS1 and he did a sweep for me as I'd been in early labour (and in and out of the hospital) for a week and also booked me in for an induction for a few days later . I went into labour properly the next day.

back from MW appt. she agreed to try a sweep, but couldn't reach as cervix posterior.

booked in for another one at the post dates clinic on weds.
