baby kicking cervix?

I'm 20 wks pregnant and yesterday and today I have had what can only be described as pings or twinges on the left hand side of where I imagine my cervix would be? My baby seems really low down where it kicks normally and I was thinking maybe its poking my cervix or pinging a nerve there? Has anyone else had this? I dont get my scan for another 2 weeks so I'm a bit worried.

Yes, I have had this with both of mine. When they are feet down it can feel like you are being kicked in the crotch! We had to stop twice on a 40 minute journey on Saturday so I could go to the loo as DD was doing riverdance on my bladder Hmm

Perfectly normal.

I cant remember this with my first, think I have blocked it all out!! I was panicking a bit coz I had a cone biopsy in 2003 and I was panicking a bit...

Perhaps you didn't have it last time - it was very shortlived with my DS, now DD seems to have turned after a couple of days kicking downwards, I expect some babies don't do it at all. It's bloody uncomfortable, and it must be because you're being kicked in such a sensitive area!

I think DD is trying to break out early ( currently 30 weeks) with a full on downward stomp. Yowser Hmm

Well aftr it happening for 2 days, it has now stopped! I was reading about hese shooting pains and spd as well...maybe this would tie in with my backache/hip pain/leg pain?

i know exactly how you feel, most of the kicks i get are in that area! It feels like a foot or hand is going to fall out of my whatsit!!!! I remember it from DS1 but he was breech, who knows perhaps this one will turn out to be breech too!!

Got it again today - do you feel its a bit like a bubble trying to pop inside?

PussinJimmyChoos · 19/11/2010 11:30

Am 22 weeks and this DC kicks downwards sometimes - hardly had it with DC1 and it feels weird!!

Pregnancy is full of surprises Grin

Oh god, yes. I had this from about 20 weeks. Had a pretty comfortable pregnancy, but my (very active) dd used to kick (punch?) down there quite frequently. On several occasions I'd just end up stopping dead in the middle of the street, legs crossed and doubled over. Got lots of funny looks! Never occurred to me that it was anything but being nudged in the cervix, to be honest. it's quite a...erm...distinctive feeling Grin

My midwife said it is where baby moves it's head and hits a nerve. Wish baby would keep her head still in that case because it's a horrible sensation. Feels like a limb is going to pop through!

bettywobble · 19/11/2010 20:00

sometimes its like a bubble trying to pop, sometimes its like a ping up inside, and other times its like someone is shoving a knitting needle up there!! Was at the mw today and she said its a combo of my rubbish pelvic floor trying to hold up a heavy uterus and baby puncjhing/kicking nerves! Its such a horrible feeling!

I've had this from pretty early on. Its bloody horrible. I keep expecting her to fall out any minute she is so low down!!
