I think I pulled a muscle (but wouldn't mind some confirmation)...

Hi - I'm just hoping someone can give me a bit of reassurance.

I'm 22 weeks pg and I was in bed last night sleeping on my left, I turned over - a little bit suddenly - and got a searing pain under my belly.

If my belly was a clock face, the pain ran from 6:00 to 9:00. I could only get comfort by sitting bolt upright and the pain was constant, I couldn't walk or lie down at all and tummy felt very hard. I tried Googling it and at one point thought it could have been a form of SPD.

Hubby was really worried (as always) and wanted me to go to the Hospital - as always I refused, I didn't want to waste anyone's time on a pulled muscle.

When I woke up this morning I felt loads better - the pain is still there very faintly in the background but nothing that's causing me trouble.

Has anyone else had this? Is it worth calling the MW over? Any advice appreciated.

Could it have been a stretching ligament? There's a lot of growing going on there.

Yep... I got a pulled muscle at 20 weeks as well as having stretching pains. I was in so much pain that I wasted everybody's time! NHS direct, the hospital and my GP. It took a good two weeks to heal properly (meaning I could walk without a strange limp).

I eased my pain with ibuprofen gel on that area and paracetamol (approved by my doctor). It really helped.

Could have been - it still hurts today but it's more of a dull ache today - felt very bad last night, really sharp pain. These things are always really scary when you've never had it before.

I do seem to be doing a lot of growing at the moment.

Thanks 1Catherine1 - I don't like to make a fuss but Hubby would have me into hospital every week if he had his way. Hmm

btw.. I'm also 22 weeks and if you want to join the due March 2011 thread then just pop on and say hello. :)

I always find it reassuring they everyone is going through the same thing about the same time.
