cervical erosion - endomic pregnancy..HELP

AM 25 weeks pregnant and had a slight bleed a week ago. went in to be checked said ok but neck of womb inflamed. Yesterday had a bit more of blled so went in again and after exam. they told me I had cervical erosion and that it was an endomic pregnancy and some of the womb lining was growing outside the womb/cervix and that was what had caused the bleed.

I'm still getting bleeding though I'm trying not to do anything. What does this mean they said I could expect bleeding on and off but I'm worried having read about incompetent cervix's causing miscarriges which have similar symptoms to mine and that they're usually not picked up until AFTER the miscarriage. also what does this mean for the birth.

ANYONE HELP PLEASE???

Henrietta, the erosion that you describe ( erosion is an out dated term now for good reason! ) does mean , like you say , that some cells which normally would be found inside the womb are on the outside of the cervix. these cells are very fragile and bleed easily as they are not meant to be on the cervix, however an ectropian, which this is, is totally normal and very common, the vast majority of women have a bit of it to one extent or another and the hormones in pregnancy can make it grow more and cause this bleeding you describe. The ectropian/erosion has no impact on the competence of your cervix, I don't know what an endomic pregnancy is though am afraid.maybe you're midwife can help a bit more

It may have been Ectropian pregnancy not endomic!! I still bit uncertain as to whether I should rest - the doc said not to worry but as i'm still having slight bleeding...
and does this affect the birth in any way
My last birth started with a heavy bleed!! so I'm a bit worried still

if your pregnancy is endomic that means that as the docs say you have some of your womb linig outside of the womb its the same/similar to women who suffer from endometriosis where they have the womb lining growing elsewhere in their bodies i.e the lungs. that may be the case so therefore its not too serious and will more than likely resolve itself after the pregnancy. as for an erosion thats just a fancy name for a scratch or ulcer on your cervix and is nothing to worry about. my friend had one of these and went on to have a perfectly healthy baby boy at full term!!
hope that helps you xx

Henrietta, I had cervical erosion during my first pg. Started at 28 weeks, and was in hospital (at my insistance for a couple of days) It is perfectly normal and loads of women get it - you don't have to be pg either, just of menstrating age. Most will never know they've even had it as the blood will dry up before reaching the end of the cervix, and for some of us there is abit more blood. Your cervix is fine, and like me you will go on to have a wonderful baby (ds is now 3). I had no bleeding in my 2nd pg (dd now 16 weeks). If the bleeding increases or you are still worried however go back to the hospital to get it checked out again, it will I'm sure be fine, but nothing beats abit of peace of mind. Sorry for waffling, just wanted to say I had a very healthy little boy with no complications and I'm sure your little bean will be just as perfect

Thanks all trouble is Im also O neg blood groop which means each time I bleed I have to have anti-d to stop problems with future pregnancies if baby is +blood grp. So this means by my experience so far 3-5 hrs in hosp each week waiting for someone to ok it!

Is there anything that you can do to prevent the bleeding happening or will it happen even with complete bed rest?
