Was labour sudden for you? Or slowly creeping?

I feel very odd tonight. Uncomfortable and just like the baby is shaping up for a move. Ive only 3 weeks left unless he goes overdue, which I dont think will happen. I just have an inkling hes getting ready!

So, did any of you get any signs before you went into labour? Maybe a weird feeling or some kind of physical sign?

Or did your waters just break/contractions start all of a sudden and it was all go?

I started feeling 'weird' a week before, like everything was shifting - she was so low too, I thought she might just drop out .
Ongoing twinges and sharp pains built up over following few days, labour began slowly on the Thursday night, came and went then built up properly throught Friday night/Sat morning, until she arrived Saturday 6pm.

Sudden, no warnings. I was sitting in bed with DP and then >bam< contractions every four minutes. Three weeks before my due date, and DD arrived 14 hours later

On the flip side, a friend of mine had a baby on Friday after contractions started 13 days before! Was in and out of hospital ten times before they kept her in to deliver. Was feeling very sorry for her!

No warning except a pop as waters went, contractions started straight away
