Hey all,
Is there anyone else out there worried about how much their eating during their pregnancy?

I am almost 9 weeks pregnant and cant stop eating, for example today I had cereal, for lunch a couple of biscuits, crisp breads, yogurt and a mince pie, came home and for dinner had waffles, egg, chips and beans and then just now I had a bowl of coco pops!!!! And I could still eat more.

I really need advice and help. Any ideas?

It would be nice if there is anyone else out there going through this so we can maybe support each other.

eek i am exactly the same. i'm just over 9 weeks pg and eating constantly is the only thing that stops me feeling queasy. i am worried abot how much i am eating, but if i don't eat then i feel sick which is worse. i am just trying to eat healthy enough food but it doesn't always work. it doesn't seem to me like you're eating that much. you had hardly anything for lunch which =is maybe why you are hungry later in the day, maybe? i have been trying to eat foods that fill me up for longer. like today i had weetabix and a banana and a yoghurt for breakfast, a fruit salad, veg soup and a roll for lunch and chickpea curry for dinner. i did eat a twix and a pack of m and ms too though! so not so good. the only thing i am hoping is that it eases off a bit. but i think if we feel hungry we should eat, but i'm going to try and stay away from the chocolate. let me know how you get on xx

I agree, we should try the healthy option but so hard. I guess ur right that eating foods that fill u up better would be the way to go. Be good to try and keep updated with each other.
It is hard when feeling sick and need to eat too, im going through that too.

Well tomorrow is a new day and I am going to try hard to be healthier so goodluck to you and will check in tomoz eve to see how u get on too.

I think it is a good idea to be healthier... but it doesn't look like you are eating that much.

I got told off by my midwife for not eating enough the other day when we went through what I had actually eaten.

Can you up the fruit and veg and protein (above all) and eat less carbs and sugar?

jillamona · 16/11/2010 23:08

hey birchykeli wasn't too bad either today had 2 veggie sausages and toast for brekkie veg soup for lunch and a big salad for dinner, but i did eat a good bit of bread and a chocolate bar too during the day. also had an apple and a pear. i agree with lucy though, you should try have some fruit during the day and i've started having soup or a salad once a day to up my veggie count. i don't eat meat so need to be careful with my protein intake. hope you get on ok tomorrow i'm just happy i don't feel sick this week hope its lasts! xx

Try and eat healthily but I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. I ate loads of crap during the first trimester to get through the nausea (sugary and carby foods helped). I'm still eating quite a bit, but it's healthier now. And I've only put on 6kg (am now 36 weeks).

So just see how you do. If it's as nutritious as you can make it, that's good. And just watch out for putting weight on away from your bump/boobs (e.g. legs, arms) as that is what is harder to shift afterwards.

I totally agree that I need to eat more fruit and veg, its difficult when I feel so fussy what I eat at the mo and not through choice. I want to eat all this healthy food so I guess I will try harder.

Well done jillamona looks like your trying real hard, and a choc bar doesnt hurt too much, As for bread for me that was all I could eat to start with. Hope the rest of the week goes well for you.

Thanks for the comments all, it does help and I need a kick up the arse lol.

xx
