What were your EARLIEST pregnancy symptoms?

I'm wondering if you "knew" you were pregnant before you could test after the 2ww? What signs did you get?

Feeling really sick, going off certain food, period-type pains but with no period, boobs so sore I would come home from work crying in pain and the one that made me finally test...a weird metallic taste in my mouth. I remember sitting on a bus thinking 'huh, that's a weird taste, wtf is that' and then 'oh crap ' Grin

With #2 I had sore boobs.
#3 I felt faint and dizzy.
#4 I was peeing loads, completely irrational and evil and really nauseous.

  1. Heartburn. I actually remember sitting in a car stuck in traffic, thinking why I was suffering from it so badly if I'd only had yogurt for breakfast. This was the first time I thought I could be pregnant but it was too early to POAS.
  2. I went off coffee, fags and booze.
  3. I was so very tired. I was coming home from work and falling asleep.
  4. I was roasting hot. I mean my body temperature. DP would move away from me at night because it was uncomfortably hot to even try to cuddle me.
All of this hit me in the first couple of weeks after conception, before the first test! I KNEW I was pregnant.

None. I was 14 weeks pregnant before I knew.
I had bought a work skirt a couple of months earlier which fitted nicely, except it was a little too large around the waist. It had a button fastening so I only needed to move the button in a couple of inches to make for a neater fit around the waist.
I stuffed it in the wardrobe meaning to do the alteration later.
Fast forward 10 weeks when I remembered the skirt and decided to do the alteration. I tried it on and it was far too small around the waist. It still didn't register.
Next week I was standing in the kitchen with OH, he gave me a hug, and jumped back he said "You are pregnant!."
So I took a test. He was right.
I was 14 weeks gone and I didn't have a clue.

1st DD - about 8 DPO I bought a bottle of Ribena from a corner shop whilst out with my DH. I took a swig and spat it out. Gave it to my DH and he said there was nothing wrong with it. The day after that I coudn't stop weeing. I took a pg test about 4 days after and it was positive. Felt very nauseous about a week later and went off a lot of food.
2nd DD - same thing with taste buds changing before 2WW was up, nauseous at same sort of time. Very similar pg to DD1
DS - nothing at all until I realised I'd missed my period. Had a bleed about a week later but all was fine. Got a HORRID taste in my mouth at about week 5, which continued until about week 25. I drank copious amounts of fizzy drinks and lemon/ginger tea to try and counteract the taste - to no avail. It was like the taste you get if you drink orange juice directly after having brushed your teeth. Yucky

Cabbage-smelling farts, all five times Blush. Massive, house-clearing stinky ones, always a sign of early pregnancy for me.

With this pregnancy I could smell things really clearly and at work a customer wanted something from high up and I started to panic. Had a feeling it wasn't safe.

I only knew for sure with dc 3. I was very young with dc1 and had a mc quite soon before, so couldn't really be sure of symptoms. Dc2 was much awaited and I had thought I was pg every month before for nearly a year so can't pinpoint any symptoms.
With dc3 she was a surprise after a one off risk and I was driving along the road to work , suddenly had a "taste" in my mouth and I knew! I can picture exactly where I was. Dh was a bit frustrated and after a week went to buy me a test as he needed to know, whereas in my head I obviously knew there was no need to test Grin. my dc3 is so reflective of that, totally determined to an extreme!

My boobs really, really hurt about two days after we had 'done the deed'. I told my DH I was pregnant. We had been trying for ages and were away on holiday ski-ing. DH felt nervous because he didn't want me getting excited and then crashing if I was wrong. I told him to not worry, I WAS pregnant but we would have to wait 10 days before doing the text. I was right.

Just a few days past ovulation I had period-like cramps, lower back ache and really vivid dreams - the dreams gave it away for me. I tested negative from about 8 or 9dpo but I was convinced I was right. Even bought some prenatal vitamins!

This is #3 so I ought to know the signs by now...

Sore bleeding gums. And oddly I wasn't symptom spotting like every month for the year or so before. I felt oddly relaxed. Maybe subconsciously I just knew.

At the moment I'm 13dpo I think. Have been on clomid. Shooting pains to boobs and uterus. No appetite. Weeing a lot. Constipated. Exhausted. Hot. Grumpy What are my chances?

I just got my first bfp today :) 10dpo i used a first response and a clear blue. All I've had is woken up with really sore boobs for the last 5 days which wears off by 10am.

I just knew even when an early pregnancy test said I wasn't. It was that way with my first too.

Other than slightly tender boobs it was just like any other month. Symptoms kicked in at 6 weeks and went away at 8/9 weeks. So if I hadn't been missing periods at 17 weeks now I still wouldn't really know. (No bump yet and I'm a skinny person- can feel little movements though).
My point is sometimes no symptoms can be a symptom itself if you normally feel off approaching af.

My earliest symptom was going back for seconds after I finished dinner, I never do this. The next day we went to the store and I kept feeling like I was starting my period, I even bought tampons and practically ran to the bathroom convinced I was going to have blood in my underwear. I was so confused when there was nothing there. That night I got a positive pregnancy test.

The only symptom that stood out was EWCM at approx 7DPO, as I was pretty sure that wasn't normal! Other than that I was a bit more tired, felt a bit crampy and had really sore boobs, but that could have just been a sign that AF was due, so I didn't actually think I was pregnant.

I was ravenous beyond belief and then I had heartburn one evening. Was sure then as I had only ever had that with my first pregnancy!
