i am 20 weeks pregnant with my second and was wondering if it is true that your first pregnancy is great but any pregnancy after that is worse? my friends have told me your 2nd or 3rd is always worse because i have been really sore with this pregnancy! little advise needed....is it true? x

Personally my 2nd was horrendous in comparison, I was sick for the first 5 months and anemic and i just felt completely drained the whole time.
General consensus thought it was because I was having a boy but that was wrong and I now have 2 little girls to show for it.
IMO its different for every woman and you just have to do the best you can for you! hope you feel better soon

my 2nd was alright but my 3rd was bloody awful

stuffedmk · 12/11/2010 11:59

This is my second and it is sooooo much worse. 1st pregnancy was 10 years ago though so it could just be my body being that much older. Had no MS with 1st and about the worst thing was the stretching pains. This one isn't as babd in the stretching pains but had MS for 1st 16(ish) weeks and at 20 weeks have already got lower back/hip issues. Have had headaches, dizziness, ridiculous tiredness, nosebleeds......It's like someone thought the first was too easy and I should get every symptom that exists. Still really grateful to be pregnant after a MC earlier in the year but it's hard not to moan sometimes.

My second DD's pregnancy and labour was a dream in comparison to DD1.

BabyValentine · 12/11/2010 14:41

I'm 26 weeks with my second, and although they were comparable during the first trimester, I feel better generally this time - odd, seeing as I now have a toddler to contend with.

However, I am far bigger, far earlier than with DC1, so am getting the heartburn and backache much earlier this time. Oh, and round ligament pains seemed to be worse this time. Oh, and headaches Blush. But, honestly, I do seem to be getting the 'bloom' this time, whereas I didn't with DC1.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 12/11/2010 15:27

My second is just so much more exhausting, but I'm 3 years older and have a toddler to look after! My ligaments and SPD started acheing earlier (but I saw a physio who worked wonders), I was queasier this time round, I think I'm larger, and I have more backache. But so far my BP is better, and having a toddler to look after takes my mind off obsessing, and it's gone really fast.

OnlyWantsOne · 12/11/2010 15:30

I agree with reshapewhiledamp

My over all health is better this time, my BP hasnt changed since booking in, unlike with DD went from 120/60 to over 200/120 (I didnt have preeclampsia)

I have felt a lot more energy, and I have had to maintain a higher level of activity which I think has helped. :)

And no sickess, but actually, much less heart burn / ive had none :)

ReshapeWhileDamp · 12/11/2010 16:00

OWO -are you still pregnant? Grin How are you feeling now?

OnlyWantsOne · 12/11/2010 18:43

mamasunshine · 12/11/2010 21:20

My 1st pg was awful! 2nd AMAZING in comparison...but on 3rd now and it's definitely been the worse so far!

clarabellarocks · 12/11/2010 22:37

First preg good but very tired from week 30, am 35 weeks now with a two year old and feel great. Apart from having fingers like sausages I'm really pleased with how I feel.

moose007 · 13/11/2010 11:00

21 weeks into pregnancy no. 2 now, was sick every day to 15 weeks, wasn't sick at all with no. 1. Both are girls. Cleaning up fully loaded potties guaranteed a chuck up every time.
Confused

MoppingMummy · 13/11/2010 15:17

1st pregnancy (girl) was really hard at the end with terrible backache, carpel tunnel syndrome, swollen legs and feet etc. 2nd pregnany (boy) was so much easier - I was expecting the same problems, but they never came. Currently 14 wks in to 3rd Pregnancy and so far it has been the worst for sickness and I feel like the back pains, bloating etc will come back this time :-(

nancy10 · 13/11/2010 15:39

I had a horrendous pregnancy first time round, sick all day every day for 9 months. I weighed exactly the same at 9 months as I was at the start. Second time round just as bad, it was a twin pregnancy and I put on a stone in total. Now I'm almost 16 weeks and the first few weeks I was sick but not as much and although I have to be careful what I eat and am definately off certain foods it's bearable. I used to feel so Angry when all the pregnant women I knew at the time felt great the whole way through!

me23 · 13/11/2010 16:07

it is true for me but everyone is different I know people who;'s 1st pregnancy was awful but 2nd was great etc etc. It affects everyone differently.
