sharp cervix pain @ 38 weeks?

I keep having really sharp pains in my cervix area, its so bad that i can't even walk properly. The pains are not accompanied by any kind of contraction tightening of bump or anything, its just the pain. I know it isn't any kind of infection because i have just finished antibiotics and been checked again for a UTI.

Anyone got any idea what might be causing it?

I have also had quite a lot of increased discharge, midwife says to keep an eye on it and if it soaks through a sanitary towel to call the delivery suite.

Is it like in your lower pelvis area like stabbing pains? I've had these for about a week now i've put it down to the baby's head engaging/dropping

I have had very sharp pelvic pain since about 36-37 weeks. Now 40 weeks today and it has gotten worse. Always when I am walking and just very sharp and painful. Only every now and then. My midwife said it was because the baby's head is now engaged so lot more pressure.

I have had the same thing a sharp stabbing pain in the cervix area, it knocks the wind out of me when it happens, and like you it happens a few times a day for really short times, and then i don't have it at all for a day or two, wierd.

I've had it since week 36 and am now 38 weeks. I've been reading about it and it seems its the baby dropping lower and stretching ligaments etc, although i have read a few different explanations!

I was hoping it was the start of my contractions as am getting impatient, but it isn't according to most people on the net (and my midwife!)

Oohh me me! I've had them really badly yesterday and today. It feels like a horrible stabby pain and it's worse when she's moving about.

It got to the point where I was ready to call the maternity helpline yesterday as I couldn't walk :(
