Hi,

36 weeks today, found out baby is breech. Having a scan in the morning to confirm one way or the other and have to decide if I want to have some drugs to relax the womb and then they can try and move the baby which sounds quite painful.

Does anyone have any advice / tips?

Have you looked at the spinning babies webside Happy? (not sure of the address, google will know!) (Or someone more cleverer.) They've got some good (if slightly odd-seeming) ideas. Notalotta help here I'm afraid as dd stayed firmly breech and was for a good long time. If yours has turned recently though, it's more likely to have space to turn back (although I'm sure someone will be along to say otherwise any sec...)

ps ecv (trying to turn baby) was uncomfortable but not painful. (Also did not work as i was 38+ weeks at the time!)

Collective advice from another thread seemed to be eat chocolate, get on all fours, stick your bum in the air and then crawl around a bit!

I had a breech baby. Got told to lie on an ironing board upturned against the sofa, do handstands!! My ds was in breech at 28 weeks and never budged. I had an ecv which I found quite tricky psychologically as even though I hadn't been massively touchy of my bump I suddenly became very protective when the consultant with the largest hands in the world did a Chinese burn manoeuvre on me!

It wasn't nice and not sure I would do it again based on what I read afterwards about the risks bit it did work and my little bump began to grow again once he was in normal position.

Good luck.

I was breech at 34 weeks and a couple of weeks later she had turned on her own. MW had suggested at the time that I take to scrubbing the floors - well there was fat chance of that!

Moxabustion sticks from Chinese herbalist burnt by your little toe work on accupressure points. DS1 turned at 37 weeks using this technique. I awoke in middle of night feeling like being stretched sideways and the next morning midwife confirmed he'd moved.
