Hi all

i know i'm not the only one but i just wanted to vent off about how sick i'm feeling. i've been constantly nauseous 24-7 for 6 weeks now. Have had some time off work and just longing for break! I'm 11 weeks now and i know lots of people have said it should get better at about 12 weeks but i'm so worried i'll be one of those that goes on the whole time....and now i'm hoping it'll get better so am disspointed each day when it doesn't!

I'm usually busy person and am fed up with not wanting or being able to do anything - even getting myself a drink of water is a chore. I've tried all the suggestions but with absolutely no success! I want to be getting excited about being pregnant but can't do since i'm so occupied with feeling rubbish!

Sorry, i'm being self-absorbed and i know some people have a worse time than me but needed to have rant!

Thanks for listening!

Jules

Hi Jules, feel free to rant, it certainly helps! I do sympathise with you and I'll cross my fingers that the magic 12 weeks works for you. It was 20 weeks for me last time and I'm 17 weeks now so I'm hoping another 3 weeks will see an improvement for me. I totally understand the "can't be bothered with anything, usually busy person" that is me exactly too and it's so unnerving not feeling like yourself isn't it! I think my DH feels like he is living with a stranger at the moment.
Are you keeping much food down or are you losing weight?

hi, i'm keeping most food down but not eating much and absolutely nothing of nutritional value. its the constant taste in my mouth that is getting to me... i've tried sucking on sweets but now i just feel sick at the thought of sweets cos i've had too many! this is all new to me and i didn't expect it! My mum had 4 kids and never a sniff of sickness so i think i imagined i'd be the same! how wrong i was! thanks for your support. x

Junk food doesn't seem to do any harm, I lived on cereal and crisps last time (and cake later on!) and my son was 8lbs 4 and is taller and stronger than most of his peers. I'm the same this time, eating anything at all that I can get quickly and keep down. Mornings are rubbish as i'm so hungry and sick it's hard to start eating even though you know you should.
I hope your Mum sympathises though?? Luckily my Mam was very sick to so she understands but none of my friends were and don't quite get how crap it is.

Hi Jules...I felt exactly the same! Felt really guilty for not enjoying the pregnancy as much as I thought I should due to the constant sickness and exhaustion. It was like having food poisoning for three months. Mine went away about week 14/15...and I then had ten weeks of feeling really energised and exhilarated, simply due to not being ill. Am 6 months now and slowing down a bit. It's a bit Pollyanna-ish, but I reckon at least having been so disgustingly ill makes the rest of pregnancy's trials seem less bad! Have not really worried about subsequent aches and pains and varicose veins etc...they seem minor in comparison to the nausea. Hope yours clears up soon. I was really upset when it didn't go away bang on week 12...but then it did go away as everyone promised, just a bit later!
