Hi ladies!

Sorry for the TMI, but for the last few days when I wake up in the morning my knickers seem very wet Blush! I know its not wee, but it is watery with white blobbly bits. Only happens on a morning by the way, and when I stand up out of bed. No other symptoms, other than weeing like mad!

What do you think? Should I write this off as a weird pregnancy thing? or see my doc?

Thanks, and sorry again!

Hi I cant give you much advice but was about to write myself as had the same problem, during the day though.

I phoned midwife today and was admitted to the delivery suite as turned out part of my waters had broken. Back home now and all is fine with baby but with strict instructions to go back in if gets worse or if develop a fever or pain in abdomen. Would say definately call midwife as mine thought I was crazy to not have mentioned it sooner ( has been getting worse for about a week). Im 31+4 but cant help to check no matter how far gone you are. Hope this helps and all is fine, but I would also be interested if anyone else has had any experience of this as dont know what I should expect next really??

Thanks for your reply Hannah! So glad you got checked and that everything is fine now. I will phone my MW tomorrow, but I aways have to leave an answer message and feel a bit weird saying this on an answer phone!

How did they realise that your waters had broken? Did you need to be examined?

Oh, and did this happen mainly on the morning for you too?

Mine happened mainly when I was rushing around, or when had been sat down for a while and stood up. I didnt know waters had broken until got examined at the hospital, I was at work last night and it was quite bad so I phoned this morning and asked the midwife to call me back when she had chance (also felt a bit embarrassed to say it on phone) She sent me straight in and was then examined speculum etc, also tested for UTI as apparently tht can cause it too, either way definately better to be checked. hope all goes well

HI suzy just wondered how you got on? I was back in hospital yesterday and ended up getting another scan to check on LO, all ok and hes still got enough fluid to move etc so all fine here. Hope you got some good advice from MW x

HI,

thought I'd join this thread as have been having the same now for a couple of days - not masses but definite leakage of some sort. have called my day assessment unit and they want me to go get checked out. feel a bit silly if my waters haven't gone, but as they said better to be safe.

hope you are ok Suzy?

Hannah1890 · 12/11/2010 19:40

Hi Lainey, I'd say definately better to be safe, my MW made me feel stupid for not going in earlier. Hope everythings all ok. May I ask how far along you are? interested to hear about people in same situation as me, although I know all is fine now, still a chance LO could be born early so bit anxious still.

suzym1984 · 12/11/2010 20:28

Hi!

Thanks for getting back to this thread Hannah, I have had a bit of a crap week health-wise, feeling very sick and dizzy so MW has requested a urine sample to check for infection.
No more watery discharge, it seems to have stopped. But I will still keep and eye on things and will be seeing MW if it comes back.

Lainey, hope everything is ok x x

Please get this checked (both of you). I wasn't really aware when one of my amniotic sacks had burst. DTD1 was stillborn. Apparently there will have been watery discharge, but I wasn't paying attention.
I don't mean to freak you out, but it does need to be checked out.

lainey1981 · 12/11/2010 22:24

well, spent 3 and half hrs at day assessment unit. upshot is waters haven't gone, just random watery discharge. they sent a swab off to the lab and my urine too.
am 38+5, as my BP was high when I got there was put on monitor for 20 mins, LO moving lots and picked up that I was having contractions/tightenings while I was there - which tied in with the period pains type feelings I was having.

they have told me to keep an eye on things and to go back if I think they might have made a mistake, and will get swab results on tues

Loopy so sorry to hear about your DTD1. I am glad I went to get checked out, even though everything is fine.

LoopyLoops · 12/11/2010 22:40

Really glad to hear that lainey. :)

suzym1984 · 13/11/2010 09:28

Oh god, when I woke this morning I seem to have it again, but not sure if it is watery or just normal discharge?! How do I know? getting a bit worried now!

def would say to call your mw/day assessment unit. As loopy says it's better to get it checked and for it to be nothing than to leave it and risk infection or worse.
give them a call and they will give you some advice.

good luck x

Hannah1890 · 13/11/2010 10:44

Definately ask for advice from midwife, when I went in and found out was only part of my waters but hes fine they told me to just look out for any changes in the discharge. Dont worry about playing the scared mum to be card, i felt bad at first but realistically u have a reason for worrying so should get checked.

Really sorry to hear about your DTD1 Loopy thankyou for sharing your advice with us

hope all is well x
