Hi all;
Lurker, but first post, and pregnancy, so be gentle :)

I've been having an on off nudging sensation in my ahem all day, and wondered if any of you lovely ladies know what it might be? It's driving me mental, almost like needing a wee for a second, but not quite.

I'm 38 weeks pregnant, and have had no period-like pains etc, so not got my hopes up!

Cheers!

Welcome to MN - you're going to need to get beyond "ahem" to survive here! Is the baby's head engaged yet? I think I recall odd spiky feelings at about this time, and I think it was when dd's head engaged. Didn't get it with ds, but I think he engaged at the last minute, having not long decided not to be breech.

Known round these here parts as crotch zingers.

I always assumed it was the head on a nerve.

Are you talking about your vadge? Ive been getting kicks in mine for ages, its so low down i swear im gonna see a foot sometime soon. Im a bit behind you though, 31 weeks.

I should really get used to my dignity being out the window now hey?!
Yep, my fanny :) Baby was fully engaged at gp appointment on friday, and this particular feeling has only started today, so not the feeling i've been associating with engaging :/
If only i could get a telescope up there and have a look!

I suspect something approaching the size of the Hadron Collider will be available if you pop down to the delivery suite so they can take a look Wink

Seriously yes I got this in late pregnancy and it's all to do with pressure on the nerves.

Lauz87 · 08/11/2010 23:15

Thanks Chocolate, hopefully it will go away soon, it's most odd :)

Try lying on your side, it may encourage the baby to hunker down more.

I was told by MW yesterday that this is your cervix preparing for delivery and happens with LO is engaged/engaging. I'm 35+2 and have had it over the weekend and it freaked me out a little. It also feels like my cervix is being prodded. it also pushes up against the bladder control switch and that's why it feels like your about to pee. I put a pad on as I was worried about leakage, but no more than usual.

MN is the best forum I've come across, no beating around the bush, and the advice/feedback is amazing. Welcome!

Thanks ladies :) I had a lot off periody pains through the night, but they seem to have tailed off mid-morning, it's the uncertainty that does my nut in!
Oh well, off to munch on some chocolate, that fixes most things right? :)
