What do I NEED in first few weeks?!?!

Hello!
I'm a first timer and after sitting down with hubby last night to make a list of what we need to buy I'm feeling extremely clueless!

Any advice on essentials?

RobynLou, that more like it, love the champagne. Much underrated on the baby essentials list you usually see

We had:

Crib and a stand with bedding(which was the bassinet from the pushchair)
Carseat (again from the pushchair)
Lots of baby clothes given to us.
Cottonwool.
Change mat.
Pushchair.
Breastpads.
Nursing bra.

The short list was partly due to my extremely low blood pressure whilst being pregnant which meant I couldn't go shopping but mainly due to the fact that I had a wait and see what happens attitude.

The only other things I would suggest are finding the numbers of your local bfing counsellors and where your local bfing support groups are and going to them while you are still pregnant, and signing up for this

we were drinking the champagne at lunchtime on our first day home when the midwife knocked at the door, DH hid it under the bed

Forgot, we also got a pack of nappies to use in the hospital.
