7 weeks pg & tiny amount of pink spotting after sex

I am 7weeks pg, DH & I had sex last night and this morning I had a very tiny trace of pink spotting on the tissue after going to the loo, naturally I am a bit worried.

Is this "normal"? Should I do anything? It really is the tiniest trace and it's pink, not red or brown. We haven't had sex since the time I got pregnant so could it just be irritation or a sign of something not right? I haven't had any other spotting. It's my first pg so I don't know if it should happen or not. Thanks for any advice.

It is quite normal to have a tiny bit of blood after sex. Your cervix is engorged with blood and probably a bit tender. Unless the bleeding becomes heavy and/or painful, then there's nothing to worry about Smile

Thanks v much TSM Smile. It does feel irritated down there but at what would be cervix level rather than baby level IYSWIM. There's no cramping & I've just been to the loo again and absolutely no spotting this time so FX'd I just need to maybe leave any bedroom activities out for a while Smile

I had exactly that at about 7 weeks pg too. I think it can be common (although it freaked DH and I out so much we then abstained until the 12 week scan, which I found out was totally unnecessary in 'normal' pg btw). If you get any further bleeding you might want to get it looked at though.

Thanks angels1. Good to know it turned out ok for you. Hopefully things will be ok for me too Smile

hey bluecloud
i had the same until i was around 12 weeks. i tried not to worry as i didn't have any pains, just a tiny bit of pink spotting straight afterwards. now out the other side and nothing for the past couple of weeks, so i'm sure it stops. i also read that, because your cervix tissue is building, some of the cells may be fragile and therefore bleed.

hope your mind is settled!

The same thing just happened to me and I am twelve weeks! )= I'm so worried but after reading this, my mind is a little at ease! I'm hope I'm lucky like you all, too! fingers crossed

Don't let this scare you off having sex while pregnant. Get in as much as you can, before the baby arrives and it becomes a real mission.

{smile] @ LisasCat! There's not been any more since the one tiny trace of pink water so it seems very likely just irritated cervix. Thanks also Suedehead and SkyBluePearl.
