7 months nursing and no period yet. I am in no position to do this all over again. Dont have a period to miss so the first clue would not be there. Not being totally irresponsible, just had a slip up the other night and am wondering the likelihood. Anybody?

I got pg when lo was 9 months old, bf a lot Inc night feeds

Yes it's quite common. If you don't want to conceive you need to use contraception

BlooKangaWonders · 06/11/2010 06:05

Don't risk it unless you really do want to get pregnant. Unless you're b/f at least every couple of hours, it's no contraceptive!

Is it too late for MAP? Or just hope for the best and get some condoms ready for next time :)

I got pg when DD was about 8 months old, still BF, had one period before that. Know several people who got pg while bf - if you don't want to get pg then get some contraception!

Chances are very high i'd say - i know of two people who were bf and got pregnant within about 3 months - so def use contraception if you dont want to get caught!

My grandma ended up with 5 kids under the age of 6 because she didn't think she could get pregnant while she was breastfeeding! My mum was also still breastfeeding me when she was pregnant with my brother apparently!

I am still breastfeeding almost entirely. Ds gets a little baby food here and there but not too often just yet. Guess I should be a bit more careful. I am a bit worried but think I should be ok.

exbf ds1, had 1 period and then was pg (he was 6mo). Didn't give him anything else at all apart from bf until he was 6mo! I know exactly the time it happened!

exbf ds2, began introducing solids at 6mo. had 1 period and then was pg Blush!! Later this time though, he was 9mo when fell pg! Again, know the exact time this happened!

Will have 3 under 3 Confused I am very happy about this, but obviously you need to be protecting yourself EVERYTIME if you don't want another pg yet!

Your chances of conceiving are very good! BF does not completely switch off ovulation so break out the condoms. I am very happy with the small age difference between my DCs but it's not for everyone!
