Rash on bump!

Help! I have a rash on my bump with lots of little red bumps! It's itchy. What do you think? Just an allergy or something? I don't feel unwell... I am 30+2 weeks...

I would advise you to see your midwife and she will do blood tests. Any rash or itching on your bump should be checked out.

But it's the blinkin weekend! It's not exactly an emergency is it? Not sure who I should call who will be available or how long I should leave it. I've had all my vaccines and stuff and I know they're up to date...

Ah yes, but itching can be a sign of a liver problem so please ring your midwife. May turn out to be nothing but better to be on the safe side. Your midwife won't mind you ringing.

Yes I think so too - just called delivery suite and midwife said my type of rash was a common condition seen in pregnancy, she didn't call it PUPPP specifically but I'm guessing that's what's she's referring to! She said it was hormone related.

She said it's nothing to worry about so I feel a bit better now - she just said to call again if it or the itchiness spreads to hands/feet etc or if I start to feel unwell.

I have got a bit bigger this past week or so, so may be the stretching skin that set it off like the wikipedia article said. Hope I don't get any stretchmarks - I've managed to avoid them thus far!

And I hope this rash doesn't stick around! It itches like mad and looks horrible! Oh the joy of yet another pregnancy ailment - hadn't even heard of this one til now!

my bump is also itching like mad today, but no rash, have just used the last of my bio oil too - must get some more tomorrow.

as for stretch marks, am 37+6 and thought had got away without any except the quarter inch one where my navel piercing was - until I noticed some teeny purple dots (about 4) under my bump yesterday - they are about 2mm and are either the start of stretch marks or broken veins - too hard to see. so am hoping that DS makes an appearance before they spread/get worse. hth

Got a couple on my boobs underneath my nipples - thing is boobs haven't even really got that much bigger!

Yes my bump had been mildly itching for a couple of days but this rash appeared all of a sudden just now - and I know I hadn't used anything different on my skin so was a bit concerned...

Hope you don't get the rash - it bloody itches and like I said it looks really gross - there I was thinking my bump was looking quite cute...

And hope you keep the stretchies at bay too! x
