This is dc2 and I felt movement from about 14 weeks. It is till very intermittent though and I can go a day feeling nothing, then a few kicks at night, I'm probably being really dim and cant rememenber but I'm sure by now with DS I was feeling 'bigger' movements and I had an anterior placenta with him where as I dont this time....? When are you supposed to feel the 10+ movements a day? Can anyone reassure me? thanks

I was told to expect regular movements (and therefore worry if they are not regular) from about 28 weeks by my midwife

Hi Bootus

I think movement can be intermittent at the 22 weeks stage. If you feel unsure you could perhaps call the maternity assessment unit at your local hospital - they may be able to check the babys heatbeat.

Hope everything is fine xxxx

22 weeks is way too early to be monitoring movement, it is normally from 28 weeks as privetdancer says.

I'm 20 week and some days I feel movement other days nothing, nothing to worry about at this stage.

I'm 20 weeks and although I feel some movement most days, it is very sporadic. Some days I feel loads, other days only the odd poke once I'm lying down in bed.

I am 24 weeks and only feel very occassional flutters. Had a midwife appointment this morning and she heard a lovely strong heart beat and said everything is fine, and not too worry about not feeling movements at this stage. The limbs are really small so likely we can't feel the kicks and punches just the full sumersaults! She could tell mine was moving allot by listening to it but I could not feel a thing

Hi just had a lot of the same concerns 2nd pregnancy but have a 15 year gap so it's hard to remember I'm 20+5 and still very sporadic movements loads last week and very little the last few days really freaks me out 😥

Is there a pattern? Intermittent movement can be okay provided there’s a pattern to it. As you could feel movement from 14 weeks I’d go to the midwife unit if you’re concerned in any way. The 28 week mark only applies to first pregnancies where the movements are new and patterns not yet established. First pregnancy but I have felt movement from 16 weeks (and a vague sort of pattern which has become clearer over time) and my ADAU unit has always taken any concerns I have seriously so don’t worry about seeming stupid. They will help.
