third trimester nausea and diarrhea - anyone?

Hi

I'm 34+5. I've had a head cold all week which has been fine but the past few days I've felt really sick in the morning - reminiscent of first trimester sickness. It usually passes, though, except today. I still feel sick, had two bouts of diarrhea and although baby is moving, wouldn't say he's going mad in there...

I called my doctor who thinks these are symptoms of a head cold virus but should I be more worried?

It could be a tummy bug or a sign that your body is getting ready for labour. Are you getting any other symptoms? Babies normally slow down with movement at this stage as there is less room to move around.

I did wonder if it means baby getting ready but I saw the midwife yesterday: baby has been head down since 28 and his head is just above pelvic but not engaged, and I haven't got any other signs as far as I know. What other signs should I look out for?

Waters leaking, a 'show', frequent braxton hicks, period pain, back ache. I don't think that the head not being engaged means that labour isn't about to happen but hopefully it is just a tummy bug for you as it's quite early. I hope that you are feeling beter soon anyway Smile
