im 21 weeks now and was sick right up to 17 weeks when I suddenly turned a corner and now all i want to do it eat. I found the sicknes and nausea really difficult especially with a 3 yr old to look after and responsible job to hold down. I realsied one day something had to give and I got a sick note.

I had to be signed off from week 9-13 and then i took a weeks holiday.

Have you got support of your family and GP?
I hope it passes for you soon, I still remember how miserable it made me feel xx

I had the same with my DD. I feel really sorry for you as it's hideous. Have you seen the doctor for medication/ dehydration check?

I still puked too but eventually I got cyclyzine which meant a bit less. We had builders in at the time and every morning they were treated to delightful retching. I know how bad it is - are you on the hyperemesis thread here?
Hope it passes for you soon and so sorry about your mam.
The only good thing about the sickness was that I was a dress size smaller after giving birth.

Hi Helen, I'm 12 weeks and am on my 2nd HG pregnancy, I think I must be nuts for putting myself through it again!

I'm on cyclizine after trying a few other medications. Did they manage to get it under control in hospital with injecting the antiemetics, and did you feel better before they let you out? Possibly you may benefit from the antiemetics that dissolve under you're Tongue or suppositories. The antiemetics do really make a difference if they're taken regularly and for a period of time. I was admitted a week or so ago in quite a bad state, but since then I've taken the meds religiously and now I just feel ill instead of the 'i'm going to die' feeling.

Are you going to the docs regularly to keep an eye on you're ketones. They should be suggesting this to you, don't put up with shitty care for HG.

The only other things that made me feel a bit better was full sugar coke and crisps. Tbh this was like a piss in the ocean for any type of relief, but you take what you're given Grin

I know how you're feeling, am still pretty rough myself, but it DOES end. I realise it probably doesn't feel like it while you're feeling so ill, but it will.
Let us know how you're doing x

Have you had your first scan yet?
It could be a symptom of having twins. That's the only time I had the sickness so severe like yours.
