Got way too hot

At 4 weeks pg, I have caught a bug that is going around. DH has been off all day looking after our DS and I have been in bed. I was absolutely freezing as our heating has broken so I put my dressing gown on in bed. I fell asleep and when I woke up, I was boiling. I took my temp (although I used the child ear bit instead of the adults) and it was about 39.3. I tried a few more times and kept making a mess of it and then realised I had the wrong end on. After I sorted it out it was 36.7 but my dressing gown was off by then and I had cooled down.

Now I am really worried as I remember reading somewhere the last time I was pg that this was why you couldn't have baths. Have I hurt my baby.

It's unlikely you did much harm if any, as presumably you woke up when it got uncomfortable so weren't all that hot for that long. Nothing you can do about it now anyway.

If you have a temp from the bug, take paracetamol regularly to keep it down.

I'm not sure how long I was hot before I woke up. It is definitely not from the bug. I am now downstairs without my dressing gown on and I am feeling cold again.

I know there is nothing I can do now but I just wanted to see what others thoughts were and whether my worries were real or not.

Also I didn't feel particularly dizzy and wasn't sweating.

Anybody have any thoughts. I am really worried.

I'm sure everything will be fine. You will have woken up because you were hot in which case you won't have been hot that long.

FWIW, you can have baths. Just as long as they're not too hot!
