My husband and I can't agree on the BCG jab for our 10week old ds, did you give your baby theirs or if you didn't what were your reasons for not?
TIA

My DD had the BCG at 13 months old. She was born in Southall which is a high risk area for TB. DH refused to let her have it done at birth as she was low birth weight (under 5lbs) and he felt it was too much.

I went back to work when she was 12 months and taught in a Sure Start centre in Southall working with many refugees and asylum seekers, mostly from India and Pakistan. We were strongly advised to let DD have the BCG and I felt I may be putting her at risk by working where I did.

She is 5 now and has a deep scar on her arm which attracts a lot of questions and comments in the summer when her arms are bare.

Not sure if any of this helps, just thought I'd share my experience Smile
